Descriptions:
Campground is situated in a mixed coniferous forest. Elevation is 4,550 feet.
Temperatures May through August are 45-90 degrees; September through October
25-75 degrees. Facilities provided include vault toilets in the campground and
flush toilets at the boat ramp. Boat launch, swimming beach and amphitheater are
also available. Popular activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding,
stream and lake fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming and hunting.

Directions:
From the town of Chester, take Hwy 36 for 2 miles west to junction of Hwy 36 and
Hwy 89. Go 4 miles and turn left directly across from the Rest Area. Go 1 mile
and turn right into the Almanor South Campground.
